Helen Johnston

Helen Johnston works for FIT (Fast track into Information Technology) a non-profit organisation that’s mission is to create an inclusive Smart Economy by creating routes to marketable technical skills for job seekers and career changers wishing to pursue quality professions in Ireland’s thriving digital economy.

Helen’s role is in Tech Apprenticeship recruitment where she is responsible for processing applications for the ICT apprenticeship programmes. She is generally the first contact you will have if you apply for a place on a Tech Apprenticeship as she organises and delivers information sessions and initial interviews for the programme.

Helen holds two masters degrees one in Humanities and one in Information Management and was responsible for the EU eSkills project which ran for 3 years, with FIT as the Irish national partner. She has worked with FIT for over 10 years in a number of roles. She is passionate about education and believes the Tech Apprenticeships are an excellent gateway into the IT industry.
